Perry Cohen, President
Perry is President of The Medical Pipeline in Glastonbury, Connecticut. He has more than 25 years experience in healthcare, designing and managing pharmacy programs for health maintenance organizations, health insurers and pharmacy beneft management companies. Additionally, Perry practiced in community, hospital and long-term care pharmacies in California and oversaw the operations for 50 community pharmacies in nine states.
He is a co-founder, past president and fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, a member of the Board of Trustees for The Pharmacy & Therapeutics Society, a member of the Drug Topics Editorial Advisory Board, Managed Healthcare Executive Editorial Board of Advisors, a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy and the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy National Advisory Board. He has lectured and written extensively on the role of pharmacy in managed healthcare. Perry holds Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He completed an administrative clerkship at the Food and Drug Administration in Rockville, Maryland. His clinical training was performed at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is licensed in California and Nevada.
Stan Mehr, Senior Vice President
Stan has nearly 30 years of experience in editorial direction, healthcare writing, and publishing. In 1987, he founded Managed Care Interface and in 1999 Long-Term Care Interface; he served as Editorial Director of Medicom International for 20 years. He is an expert writer on managed care and long-term care health policy, including reimbursement, formulary issues, patient and resident advocacy and clinical topics. Stan has 18 years of monthly editorials and several academic articles to his credit.
Stan is also the President of TPG Communications & Research, a company that conducts market research and custom publishing activities for the healthcare industry.
Stan holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. Additionally, he is a member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy. Stan also holds Senior Scholar status at the Thomas Jefferson University.
Mark Hanrahan, Vice President
Mark is the Vice President of The Medical Pipeline LLC in Glastonbury, Connecticut. He is responsible for sales, marketing, and account management strategies, which assist clients in achieving their growth and profitability objectives.
For over 25 years, Mark held leadership positions in employee benefit sales, account management, marketing, and general management. In addition to holding senior roles within established multi-line insurance companies, Mark led teams in various entrepreneurial ventures within the prescription benefit management, consumer-driven health care, and voluntary benefit markets.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse and served as a guest lecturer on marketing in the Masters of Public Health programs at both USC and UCLA.
Marjorie Pestel Zimmerman, MS, BSPharm, Editor
Marj is a registered pharmacist who has diverse experience in the healthcare industry. During her practice in a large tertiary care center, she held numerous positions, including decentralized clinical pharmacist and Assistant Director of Operations within the pharmacy department. As a consultant for a psychiatric hospital, she performed medical staff drug usage evaluations and led patient medication groups. Marj has been Director of Pharmacy for a home-infusion company that managed a broad range of diseases and has spent the last 15 years in the medical communications/education industry. At a managed care communications company, she researched, designed, and developed products, including sales training, advisory boards, symposia, disease state management, and communications programs. After focusing on managed care, Marj joined a medical education company, where she held various positions within account services and new business development. Her responsibilities included developing and measuring strategic educational plans that included publications, advocacy development, and promotional and CME programs. She has experience in multiple disease areas, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, asthma and HIV/AIDS.
A graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy, Marj earned her MS from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. She is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.
